This will proly be my last post in Appalachian Americans. It has come to my attention that some are offended by my posting pictures of myself. I am not offenede by this but want to say why I do this. I had my own Christian web page for 15 years and I was told to make my stories more interesting its always good to put a face with yur post, let people know you and what you are all about,,a picture is worth more than a thousan words. When I had my page(The Potters Vessel) I would never do this because at that time I weighed 234 lbs and did not want pictures of me posted.. The reason I dont do the Potters Vessel anymore is because when my husband got sick it took all my time taking care of him. He was sick for a very long time and had to be taken care of just like a baby 24-7.. I kept him home with me instead of putting him in the VA.nursing home as recommend. I lost my husband 2 years ago this past Nov. He was the love & soulmate of my life for 43 years & I wasnt about to let him die in a VA. nursing home... But anyways,, I didnt ask to be on this page,,a very good friend of mine who followed me on Potters Vessel sent me a message and said she had recommend me to join this group but it had to be approved.. I had never heard of the group before then. Now I want to say,, No I dont post pictures to draw attention to myself,, I am nothing without God. As I said,, I am not offended by this but if I have offended others by my self pictures then I am sorry. I will say this,, My Appalachia bringing up was we were taught better manners than to openly try to embarrass someone in public.. I would never openly put something on someones post on here to cause anyone to be hurt. To me and the way I was brought up in the mountains that is rude and uncalled for. It was said they were taught that was drawing attention to oneself.. I was taught for someone to do another like this shows there is jealousy.. My intentions was not to hurt no one..just like to post and tell my stories. I will follow this page as I have made some good friends on here & I love reading the stories and seeing all the pictures posted Thank yall for yur comments,, showing me friendship & most of all that good ole Southern Love...
