This wonderful status was shared by one of our fellow members of Occupy Democrats. GET A LOAD OF THIS: I have a close friend who is a rabid right wing tea bag. For years she ranted about how Obamacare was going to destroy our country, how we couldnt afford it, on & on, until I finally told her that I wasnt going to discuss this with her anymore. She calls me just now, says she has a cousin in severe pain, a construction worker, slipped a disc in his back, cant walk, needs medical attention now, no insurance, might lose his job, hes a FAMILY MAN, and HE NEEDS HELP. Do I know of a free clinic in the area? I suggested that if he were really suffering bad that he go to the emergency room. She said, But he has no insurance. Will he be treated? I told her , Yes, he will be treated but yes he will also owe the bill. She said, But it would be like about $700! This man is a blue collar worker, has a wife with little kids ... Yep, I said, I know, but if hes in really bad shape, hes got to get help and get it now. She then asked me, What do people ordinarily do if they dont have insurance? I said, Thats what Obamacare is all about. To address this very issue. I suggest that your cousin get to the emergency room, then look into Obamacare. She said, I dont think he would be willing to do that. I asked, Not do what? She said, Obamacare. Hes a staunch Republican. He would have a hard time taking Obamacare now. He cant admit that hes been wrong. Its a pride thing that men have. I asked, I thought you said he just fell, was in terrible pain, unable to get up, cant even walk? She replied, I did say that because he IS suffering and Im calling around trying to get him some help. Its Sunday. Nobody knows what to do. I made my last comment, Take your cousin to the emergency room, then tell him to look into Obamacare for his whole family, not just himself. And think on this: pride goeth before the fall.
