This year, KOs Karakara, Emmy Gees Rands and Nairas and Cassper Nyovests Doc Shebeleza took Africas music by storm, killed the monopoly of Nigerias yansh, hammer, women and wine noise they call music and gave others the belief they can equally do it well. Those tracks have two things in common. The lyrics are African while the instrumental were foreign. The much talked about Doc Shebeleza modelled its instrumental after French Montanas Pop that featuring Rick Ross, Drake and Lil Wayne. No altering. Exactly what excellence requires. There will never be a methodology that will be excellent. Rather, it is the ability to blend the merits of 2 or more patterns together will produce the desired result. Something we call hybridization.
