This year, Youth Work Week will focus on Building Skills for Employability. The campaign aims to highlight the role of youth work in supporting young people to unlock their productive potential, acquire decent work, start their own businesses and develop relevant skills and attitudes for ‘the world of work’. Youth workers also advocate for employment policies that create genuine career pathways for young people. Business Management Consortium (BMC) is organizing a one day conference to commemorate the Commonwealth Youth Week while also working with relevant stakeholders to ensure that Youth Work is professionalized. The event will bring speakers from various segments of the economy such as government, corporate organizations, non-governmental organizations. BMC works to ensure that the menace of unemployment among youth is reduced and eventually halted.
