This year, in order to more effectively focus our research - TopicsExpress

This year, in order to more effectively focus our research funding, the MIT Sea Grant College Program is soliciting preliminary proposals in two specific areas of great interest to our stakeholders: acidification in coastal waters, and carbon processes in coastal habitats. We will be holding an informational meeting at MIT Sea Grant during the week of January 20 – 23, to provide guidance for interested applicants; a detailed announcement will be available on our website after January 12. To apply for MIT Sea Grant funding, you must be a university-based, Massachusetts scientist who is eligible for Principal Investigator status at your home institution. The PI must not be receiving any other MIT Sea Grant project funding during the duration of the FY2016 project. To begin the process, you may reply to this email, giving a provisional title for your proposed work. This will not be considered a commitment to the topic, or to completing a submission. If the topic is approved, we will send you login access to our online proposal system. Projects are funded for two years at a maximum of $100,000 per year with a 50% match requirement. For more detailed information and a description of the selection process, please go to our RFP website ( seagrant.mit.edu/RFP.php ). Preliminary proposals are due before 5:00pm, Friday, February 27, 2015.
