Thomas J Purrazzo, one of my oldest friends, one of my best friends has married the love of his life, Nikki Bober. I am so happy for you two. Congratulations. I have known Tommy (I still get weirded out when he says his name is Tom) just before we started the third grade, summer of 1997. Tommy was a class clown, a trouble maker, but one of the most entertaining kids anyone could have imagined. I was new in town and Tommy lived just down the street from me. Tommy Purazzo picked on me. Him and Mike Thompson were always busting my balls. He intimidated me. Funny thing was, I stood two heads taller than Tommy! Tommy and I became good friends in the 6th grade, fall 2000. We had a similar sense of humor. We would make movies with ridiculous story lines....Two hobos who worshiped Kareem Abdul Jabbar.....yeah I dont know. We also liked to cause trouble.....In the way 12/13 year old boys do....throwing shit on and off of the bus. We put our bus driver Phyllis through so much shit....so much so she requested a restraining order. We are sorry Phyllis.....We both went Stagg High School. The crew was Sean Athy Emma Cherry Corie TomkinsMary Elizabeth BrewerMichael K SkrobinskiSteve Konzen Ed Rey Joseph Lahola Philip J. Fry Ericksonand I know I am forgetting plenty of more. High School was more or less typical. We did stupid stuff, We got in trouble. We loved. We laughed. We enjoyed our Palos lifestyle. If you know Tommy you know he has messed up quite a few times. May i cite the time Tommy and Scott Swintek had their fun in Woodland Shores.....none the less, Tommy did not let these mistakes define him. He did grow up. He did become responsible. He became empathetic. He did all of this without surrendering his charm nor comedic personality. What changed him? Well I do not dare say anyone thing, but I have to consider Nikki. Nikki you didnt SAVE Tommy, but you helped make him the man we all love today. A man whose personality is radiant. The most positive person I know. A guy you want to be around. You two are perfect for each other, and I am so happy that you two found each other. Tommy and I do not see each other like we used to, twice a week, jammin in the basement with The Highlife, remember Ed and Matt Nelson? One of my biggest regrets in life is not seeing you enough, Tom. Even though we dont, I still hold you in my heart as one of my best friends and as one of the best people I know. You are a great man, Tom. Your mother, Mary, and Father, Jim Purrazzo truly made something great. I am very proud of you dude. Thanks for being my friend. Congratulations to Nikki and Tommy Purazzo! You will achieve great things together.
