Thornton High School invites the community to their Second Annual Multicultural Festival If you enjoy diversity and feel curious about other country’s cultures, food, habits and lives, then you have a date on Saturday March 15th, 2014 at Thornton High School (THS). This Multicultural Festival was initially conceived by a THS student, as a personal project. Angela Abraham, whose family is originally from India, loves the diversity at THS and wanted to celebrate it by having a Multicultural Festival. Thornton High School is an authorized International Baccalaureate® School at the MYP and DP level, and promotes the creation of a peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The Thornton High School Parents, Teachers and Students Organization (THS PTSO) is coordinating efforts to make this festival a success. This year’s event is sponsored by the Adams County Prevention Partnership. Once again, participants from a wide array of backgrounds and disciplines will be showing their talents, food, dress, and skills. You can learn how to create Japanese calligraphy, and you will see dances from different parts of Asia, Native American, Hip Hop and Irish dance, among others. You will also enjoy delicious free food samples from different parts of the world, as you learn the cultural highlights of a variety of countries. That is the beauty of diversity! Thornton High School Saturday March 15th, 2014 from 11am to 3pm 9351 Washington St., Thornton, CO 80229. This event is free. We hope to see you all there!
