Those effing C clips do not come out easily. The wear on those is sort of what I would expect, and minimal. I cant feel a ridge with my fingernail. There is a little bit of wear on the giant pin that had to come out, but nothing to get excited about there either. BUT, I think I need to replace the bolt that holds that pin in. Which I think a previous owner had tried to take out with the wrong size wrench. That would be the same person that used RTV and the old gasket when he put the cover back on. More good news: the axles are 30-spline, but the 33-1/8 length is a bit curious. As is the 60-5/8 bracket to bracket (I took off the drum brakes).
