Those flamin pigeons have all been roosting on my tongue - TopicsExpress

Those flamin pigeons have all been roosting on my tongue again..... and theyve pecked the bast*rd raw mate. Yeah no,they must come in of a night time while Im asleep. Im going to have to start spraying the room full of bird off before bed time. Yeah no its a bit scratchy alright....yeah no mate...me tongue I mean. So aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhh mate................ the ummmm ahhhh FLAPP. Yeah no it was alright........it was good. It was the bloody grouse just quietly. We all had a mad time together. The musicians.....oh mate.....how good were they. It was just like a proper concert or something........ you know a real one at a pub and stuff. Actually....our performers are some of the nations best and anyone who knows them will attest to that. Look..we had a brilliant time. Everyone came with the same spirit and desire. Our intention was to drop our guards...... and to be open to sharing the ideals of Fun,Love and Peace with each other. Our arms were open in a gesture of acceptance and joy. Speaking of Joy........Anna Hrubys Mother Joy even came along and graced us with her presence. Joy is a much loved living legend in the Entertainment industry and you can see her on her own show Joys World on TVS. It was indeed an honour and a privilege to have her with us as a part of FLAPP 2014. Im very very sorry and I would like to apologise that I wasnt able to get real drunk and stuff last night.......I meant to.....I honestly did....but I just sort of ran out of time or something. Please dont judge me on this one isolated incident. So I didnt get drunk at the party......so what ? I bet there were people all over the world who....stuffed up somehow and didnt get drunk and make a fool of themselves last night......one time mate....thats all....just this one stinkin time....okay so I might not have had those one or two too many....,. I feel bad enough about it as it is without you making me feel worse. Change the subject please.................. Ummmm okay I will.......... all jokes aside, Sweet-Pea and I had a great big cry together this morning. There was a text on my phone from a very very dear friend. My eyes are filling with tears right now thinking about him. Plenty of you know the man of whom Im talking of. He couldnt come and join us last night because his baby sitter had cancelled on him. He and his three beautiful boys all stayed home together last night. Our dear friend lost his wife very very recently. Its not fair and it doesnt make sense. I dont know what else to say about it......... other than Trish and I both broke down when we read his message just now. I can barely comprehend the sadness that is now a part of my friends life. However....he is a strong man and a great Dad who has a faith that can move mountains. Other people mate......you just never know what burden it is that they carry through their life. All the more reason to be kind to people all of the time. Ummmmm yeah so Bill Crews and the Exodus Foundation ?? Howd we go with the fundraiser ?? Drum roll please.......oh actually just quickly...the legendary P.J. turned up with his kit in the car last night. P.J. or Paul has just returned from his own mad time in Japan. P.J. was in the MAD MAX movie.....and he and his fellow cast members are of absolute cult status over there in Japan. Yeah :) mate its true....the Japanese are deadset mad for Mad Max......... anyway P.J. is also a red hot percussionist and so he set up his skins and gave em a bash for us last night. Ric Herbert....who fresh from his own recent trip to K.L. (I think) ,where he and his creative cohorts super successfully debuted their new smash hit musical Sinbad.............yeah :) pretty impressive aye ?? You know Im just doing this to name drop and thereby make myself sound good by association, dont ya ? :) Just gotta do what ya gotta do baby. Yeah well anyway....Ric can really sing man...so it was a real pleasure and an honour to have both he and P.J. entertain us so unexpectedly. Jim and Karen,Kim and Anna, and my dear mate Ian Sandercoe, all blew the room away with their beautiful gift of music. It was a great night........... ohhh the money ?? Yeah well first of all......thank YOU to those who came and donated. Secondly....you can still donate directly to exodusfoundation.org.au and Id urge you to think about doing just that..... they really need our help. Okay...ummm how many people were there last night ?? Ummmm...I dont know......maybe a hundred ? We didnt have any idea of who was definitely coming and there may have ended up being only ten of us or...who knows...so ummm yeahh for our first ever FLAPP Fun,Love and Peace Party...we were really happy with having a hundred friends turn up to get behind the concept. We didnt raise a huge amount but we raised a nice amount....... and more importantly than that.... we raised OUR awareness of the problem of the homelessness and poverty that exists right here at home. As youre reading this........someone.....somewhere.....sits cold and alone with very little hope surrounding them. There is no Sunday lunch with family. There is no lying on the lounge watching T.V. There is no cause for joy or celebration. Instead there is loneliness fear isolation and the constant cold. Do you have kids ? The people who were talking about....the ones that need our help.... yeah....well they used to be just a little boy or girl......they were somebodies precious hope for the future once.....maybe. Anyway...YOU get it....so get online and give. Last night we raised $1,451 and fifteen cents. Look ...its not a lot of money but its some money that will do some real good......and these sorts of things are always a work in progress. The spirit of joy and of charitable giving is....... well ................ its a bit like the Herpes mate.... its very very easy to catch. Maybe......youve been infected and you dont even know it yet. Maybe next time you are walking into the local supermarket and you see somebody who is obviously down on their luck..... maybe youll do something surprisingly generous. Even a brand new fresh pair of socks....can you imagine what that would mean to someone who lives on the street. How sore would their poor feet be ? A new fresh warm pair of socks would change their day mate. I know youll do something mate...... this is just the beginning. So yeah Sweet-Pea and I are really happy with the little swag of cash that you all so generously donated last night. This,by the way, isnt just a thing to do....... no man...... its a way to live. No one can touch us.....Im telling you....and of that...Im deadset serious. Okay then..... Well just drop the cash on the Exodus mob via their on line thingameejig and well post the remittance on line just to keep things square. Keep doing good things..... and f***in rock out while your at it mate........ it really is the most marvelous fun darlings..... I positively loves it :) balls in your court now baby ............... Oh just before I go here is a copy of the Thank YOU speech that I forgot to take with me last night.....I left it on the table and the cat came and sat on it....and well....one thing led to another and I forgot it...oopsie.. so here tis now.... Hello everyone...thank you so much for coming along and celebrating life tonight. Im Tim......and Slim Farrell has asked if I would stand in for him tonight..... You had the courage and the spirit to get up and come along. Youre one of us now baby. My darling Sweet-Pea for all of the many hours, weeks and months that she has spent so passionately organising the logistics of bringing things all together and making the FLAPP 2014...... a reality. Shes real clever that girl of mine. I love you Sweet-Pea. I also want to thank the people that were raising money for. Bill Crews and his dedicated mob of people at the Exodus Foundation.......... who are right there in the trenches on the front line in the war against poverty...... Thank God for the people like them heyyy ?? Thank YOU.....all of YOU for your choice to involve yourself in the awareness of the many social problems that we.............. as a community face. Thank YOU also for your choice.....to get up and do something about it. A whole lot of little things add up very quickly to great big things....yeah ?? So yeah no mate....let this be just the beginning of a very very beautiful friendship. Now Ladies and Gentlemen ................ in the words of the big galoot that abominable man.....
