Those of you posting a long paragraph on your page that claims that doing so will enable you to be protected by copyright, and that anything you post on your page cant be removed by Facebook, let me say this: You have ZERO idea about how the internet works. Facebook is a company whose social networking site you use every single day, most likely several times a day. ANYTHING you post on the page that you claim is yours, but is in reality on Facebooks servers is AUTOMATICALLY the property of Facebook. Why? Because you posted what you posted using THEIR website, and it doesnt matter if you like this or not. Posting a long paragraph that claims that you have legal rights concerning what you post on Facebook is the same thing as a prison inmate complaining about their rights in prison. Let that sink in. Are there other social networking websites out there? Sure, but theyre not going to be any more secure than Facebook. I dont care how secure they claim to be. If you really wanted to have a secure social networking website, you would first of all have to set up your own private intranet whereupon you and those whom you allow on your intranet could connect to each other, and of course your private intranet would need to have firewalls in place, as well as other safety measures enacted to be sure that you werent being spied on. This would GREATLY reduce the speed of your private intranet, though, because the security measures you would need to put in place would interrupt the steady flow of traffic amongst people on your intranet. If youre looking for security on Facebook, then you may as well stop using the internet all together, and the reason why is because youre not going to find ANY website on the internet that is 100% secure, not even websites that use Verisign, such as online banking websites. With that said, stop living in fantasy land where you claim that noone but you and those who are connected to your friends list can see what you post on Facebook. Stop living in the false reality whereupon you think that your information is safe and secure, when the reality is that ANYONE can find out whatever it is you choose to post on the internet, and if youre going to post sensitive information on Facebook and then get mad when that sensitive information is exploited, you need to get off of the internet altogether.
