Those of you who know me know I dont shy away from political discussions. By now, Im sure you have noticed a lack of posts initiated by me over the last several months. Part of this (a VERY small part) has been due to health issues (no worries--im on the mend in a big way), but the bulk of my silence has been due to being in observation mode. Ive read countless posts and articles (I tend to steer clear of video clips, as I like to read, not be read to) from the extremes of both ends of the political spectrum, each side mostly acting like a bunch of 5 year-olds with the name calling, posts here demanding that we unfriend so-and-so because they dont think exactly like you....the list of childish behavior goes on and on. Of course, given that our political so-called leadership is among this group, Im not overly surprised. We are faced with a crisis from within, one far greater than any external terrorist threat could possibly pose. Laws created, and Executive Orders issued, clearly violate any number of our Constitutional freedoms, yet nothing is being done to put a stop to it. Now we see our national borders being literally overrun by thousands of people south of the border with no end in sight--and almost nothing being done to stop it. In the last week, we have started to see people waking up. Normal, everyday people, forming human barricades to prevent busloads of these illegals from reaching whatever destination they may have. People, it is time. Obviously, our elected representatives arent going to do their jobs. Simply replacing them in upcoming elections 2014, 16, and beyond, wont be enough, nor will said elections produce needed results fast enough. MLK and others produced results not by encouraging violence, but through numbers and peaceful demonstration/disobedience. We are starting to see it with the example I mentioned above. But, unfortunately, I dont think simple demonstrations against our government are going to suffice. Its going to take the average American--in millions of numbers to secure our borders while allowing the Constitutional process to weed out those in Washington allowing the destruction of our country. There are literally millions of veterans in this country, myself among them. We swore an oath to defend this nation from all enemies--foreign and domestic. I am perfectly willing to step up and help property owners on our southern border monitor and, if needed, defend their property from wrongful and unlawful intrusion. I may be just 1 person, but I am a UNITED STATES MARINE, one who takes that oath seriously, and I will be damned if I am going to stand idly by and watch the nation I continue to serve disintegrate. If you happen to be one of those property owners on our southern border and would not mind the company of patriots, dont hesitate to let me know. If you have a mindset similar to mine--veteran or civilian--and have the ability to serve your nation again, let me know. I dont know if the powers-that-be at Facebook will allow this post to remain here. I can only hope that it stays up long enough to get the ball rolling. It is time, people.
