Those today who claim great enlightenment and higher intelligence...those who claim to be the "learned" of our day boast, "There is no God," that "God and the Bible are nothing more than the human musings of those who lack their enlightenment and a philosophy that man is his own god. Such are those who spout humanistic and universalist views. Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun, and so it is today. 2000 years ago this philosophy was just as rampant in our world today. A man named Paul would remind the believers in Corinth-- For it is written: "God will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent God will frustrate." 1 Corinthians 1:19 --These professed learned are forever trying to bring to nothing the faith of the humble believer, but for centuries they have failed in their attempts. Their very own arguments break down, their theories fall under their own weight, their deep-laid plots discover themselves before their purpose is accomplished. The gospel (GOOD NEWS) of Jesus Christ is not extinct and never will be for the Lord liveth! If this this was not truth in living form it would have perished from off the earth long ago. I was reminded of these things today from the writings of Charles Spurgeon.
