Those who are sick and or disabled and under the age of 35 who - TopicsExpress

Those who are sick and or disabled and under the age of 35 who rely on the disability support pension face these changes from the 1st of July. This is information given on the human services website. I have been trying to explain to people for a long time the difference between what governments can do through regulation and legislation. Where are the Labor party on these changes and the ensuing bullying, harrassment, suicides and homelessness that will result from these policies? The DSP has already been made near impossible to get and impossible to keep for people who are genuinely ill and unable to work. If this had been done to me 10 years ago when my bowels first started failing due to MS, I probably wouldnt have kept a roof over my head! So for now, I am safe because I am too old to be targeted, but for how long? No-one chooses life limiting illnesses and disability and the fact that they ALWAYS choose to feature either someone in a wheelchair with a permanent and predictable condition OR someone with an intellectual disability - again a permanent and predictable condition, tells you the people they will hurt are those with unpredictable and debilitating illness, those with Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis etc...and Mental Illness. In other words, the very people who actually do NEED the pension, because they do not have a predictable work capacity. Jesus, why are people so gullible and ignorant about this shit. humanservices.gov.au/customer/news/changes-to-disability-support-pension-from-1-July-2014
