Those who want someone charged, yesterday, might want to think - TopicsExpress

Those who want someone charged, yesterday, might want to think about that. A premature charge, or one based on emotion, or your opinion, and not based on the law, might very well result in a not guilty. If that should happen, in most all cases, the defendant could never be charged with the same crime again. He could never be charged again, even you discovered new evidence, or even if the defendant later admitted, that he, in fact committed the act. We have seen the results of proceeding to charge and try, when the law and facts (as known) are against you in recent history, i.e., State of Fl. v. Zimmerman. Although it was a different factual basis than this case, it was destined to be, and it was, a sorry azzed prosecution. I dont believe Tejas wants to repeat the FL experience, if they are wise.
