"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little - TopicsExpress

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." (Benjamin Franklin, Pennsylvania Assembly: Reply to the Governor, November 11, 1755). GCSB Act 2003 - Section 14: Interceptions not to target domestic communications "Neither the Director, nor an employee of the Bureau, nor a person acting on behalf of the Bureau may authorise or take any action for the purpose of intercepting the communications of a person (not being a foreign organisation or a foreign person) who is a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident." GCSB should not be rewarded for breaking the law, they should be censured. What has changed that this very clear section of the law passed in 2003 & supported by all parties in Parliament (except the Greens who objected to the whole need to have a GCSB) is now required to be changed? #StopTheGCSBbill
