Thought For Today August 21st 2014 Thin Skin It’s important to have people around who can reflect truth back to me but I must keep an open mind. If I can’t hear you without getting my feelings hurt, there is something wrong in my world not yours. When I’m defensive and sensitive I am either hiding from reality, taking things personally or choosing to eat emotional poison, sometimes all three. If I’m touchy I need to remember nothing others do is ever about me, but perhaps someone has shined a light into a wounded place in me. That’s where my work begins. It’s a gift to find these wounds, otherwise how can I ever heal and be whole. Today I won’t run from truth. It’s wise for me to look directly into these mirrors that illuminate my soul.
