Thought Id reel off some memories quickly ( many may be repeats) Circa 1976-83ish. 1) The city-bus hijacking incident, across the street at that scary mansion (SMS was locked down for a few hours and was on Nightline BTW) 2) Flute-o-phones, and the band instructor Mack, or Dr Mack (?) 3) 4-square on the old tennis court 4) Pam Foxs domination of all thinkg P.E. 5) The creepy crossing-guard/hot-tub scandal. 6) Wrapping books in butcher-paper 7) Nuttie-Buddies, Hot Fries, and orange and green sherbets from the cafeteria freezer 8) The mysterious, and off-limits, balcony of the old gym/cafeteria/church 9) Selling The Worlds Finest mint chocolates and chocolate-covered almonds for fund-raisers ( Campbell Soup labels as well) 10) The classified Teachers Lounge, where smoking was actually allowed. 11) Many tornado warnings, sitting crouched in hallways for hours in the dark 12) The reading room 13) Lice inspections 14) Borrowing lunch money from the office 15) Never being sure of what a Bearcat actually was! 16) Intense, kick-the-can games, after school 17) The admirable Kennedy family. 18) Writing down your list, and quantity, of sins before First Friday confession. Monsignor McTamney, Fathers Mills, Hopka, Bierschenk (1st time)and Deacon Votruba Sister Mary Beth Sister Cecilia/Sister Bird Sister Mary Catherine ( taught youngsters) Sister Paraclete Mrs. Stevens? ( Stevenson?) Sister Peggy Sister Jean-Therese Mr. Stoudt (organist) and his backup, Mrs ? Mrs. Kallet ( Kalliet?) and multi-flavored Tootsie Rolls Mr. Riggs Mr. Cherry ( janitor and guardian of the mystical incinerator and loading dock) The wonderfully pleasant women in the cafeteria Mrs. Minigutti Ms. Haaker Mrs.Brito Colin 84
