Thought and Poem – August 7, 2014 Have you ever noticed that cars can behave like people? They have minds of their own and well, they tend to work when they want to, and if they want to. Today cars even have brains of their own and like humans they will have their moments when they will want to do NOTHING ! As impatient people, we may not always be “nice” when our cars break down. When it comes to our cars, we want them to keep it together and be ready and willing to start when we need them. We want them to be trustworthy and start every time we put a key in the ignition. We want them to roll on four tires that never need air or go flat and have lights that work when we need them to see or to let others know the direction we will take,. We want them to stay energized for life on the one battery that is provided for them when we purchase the car. Simply put, we want our cars to work at all times…no excuses. When our cars have moments where they don’t respond and they stall, get flat tires, their batteries die and the keys don’t start the car when we put our keys in the ignition, it can make for some stressful times for humans. Humans will get moody, angry, and may even act out. How we respond and behave may prompt those around us to ask, “Who really has the brain?” Most often our cars will start when we replace the battery, fill it with gasoline, or do whatever maintenance that it needs to keep the system working. But what will it take to put the human drivers back in good moods so that things around their homes can go back to normal again? A cup of coffee, a bag of potato chips, a chill pill? I have the answer to this question. I happened to experience a little car problem recently and let me tell you….it took ALL the above and a box of TWINKIES to settle my nerves until the car started again. What about you? What do you do when you find yourself stressing out when your car breaks down? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst Got Cars? Cars, what would we do without them? They have minds of their own, like humans. They work when they feel like it, And there are just no “and, ifs or buts” around this. When they act up and decide today they are not going to start, don’t bother to complain, It just adds stress to the body and causes us more physical pain. You wait out the problem, to see if it will “iron” itself out, And if not…well…it may be another reason for not being in a happy mood; kids, mates, dogs and cats…look out! Then again, there is no reason to take the problem out on anyone that may be hanging around, I mean, make a cup of coffee, or tea and relax, as you try to calm yourself down. And if the hot stuff isn’t working, there are other things you can do, So try something cold, like ice cream and add a couple of cookies too. After a while, try the car again to see if it will start, You will be surprised at what can happen when you are relaxed and ready to do your part. Sometimes car problems work themselves out with just a little time, And then all goes back to normal… you can get in your car and drive away, until the… next time it breaks down again…somewhere done the line!
