Thought last evening was to be my last with Sheba on earth & that Mike would have missed saying good-bye. When I got home, things seemed normal but have noticed some slight behavior in the last couple days I chalked up to dementia. She is a 15 yr. old Samoyed after all. About an hour later, she couldnt stand or walk. Seizure, stroke, old legs suddenly not able to go anymore? I feared the worse. With the help of great friends Denyea & Scott, he got her into the truck and Denyea went with me (angels) to Dr. Brown, our vet in the Cape. Great news. Classic case of idiopathic geriatric vestibular syndrome. Possibly a middle ear infection causing dizziness, lack of coordination, eyes darting from side to side, motion sickness. Plan: dark room, quiet and time. Slept comfortably for 10 hrs. Besides giving me a bit of attitude for not letting her stay outside today, shes doing remarkably better.
