The Puget Sound District Fall Camporee 2013. Bear Essentials II Are You Tougher than a Boy Scout? October 4,5,6, 2013 Registration is now available on line at phc.kintera.org/bearessentials2 This year’s camporee is following last year’s more traditional based on competition and having a good time challenging our scouting skills. All the skill challenges are based on the patrol method, each patrol member will be challenged and the score averaged for the patrol score. Several of the challenges were featured in the National geographic Show “Are You Tougher than a Boy Scout?” Weblos if hosted by a troop more than welcome, please integrate into patrols. Each Troop will be responsible to staff one or two challenges and provide content to the evening Campfire. The focus of the challenges should be to test teamwork and that the strength of a boy scout comes from the team. This is an excellent chance for the SPL and senior scouts to shine. After the camp fire will be a potluck cracker barrel dessert, with voting for the best dessert (awarded at check out) bring eating gear. If you would like to come and assist, there will be limited support for staff, as in bring your own meals and Tent (building can be arranged). Contact me as soon as possible for logistics. . I will take pre-registration and assign camp sites and coordinate your troop challenge now. Patches will be given along with numerous awards i.e... Overall patrol (The Golden Axe), best camp site (The trophy!), Best Sprit (The Paddle) and more Once you have selected the game or challenge your troop is hosting contact me with a complete materials list what your troop can provide what camp Hahobas should be able to provide and what we need to procure. I will be attending district roundtable in September This is the kick off of the round table, but there will be time for me to answer questions , we can touch bases there either before or after. Call me with questions. Matthew Cameron Program Chair Puget Sound District 253-691-7601 [email protected]
