Thought we would re-visit an old post for new followers. ----------------- The Truth About Milk ---------------------- All of a sudden we find a percentage of humans are becoming lactose intolerant. Lets look at why this has occurred. This has been brought on due to the introduction of the pasteurisation process. In this process, the success of it is measured by testing for a presence of enzymes, some dairies looking to destroy all enzymes. Now for us to break down lactose (the sugar in milk) we need an enzyme called lactase, which is found in milk. With this enzyme being a victim of the pasteurisation process, we now find milk indigestible equalling lactose intolerance. Now on to the skimmed and semi-skimmed milk fad. We have had it drilled in to us that fat levels in food are the main cause for heart disease so this means we usually try and take as much fat out our diet as possible. Well lets look at how skimmed and semi-skimmed milk is made. By taking the fat content out, the taste and texture is nothing like milk so this needs replaced. This is where the use of skimmed milk powder comes in. The protein content is raised and the taste and texture is brought back with the use of this. In the process of creating skimmed milk powder, the naturally occurring cholesterol (which is good for us) becomes oxidised. The oxidised cholesterol should be avoided at all costs. It has been known to help in the build up of plaque in our arteries, leading to heart disease. Unfortunately, us humans are very gullible and will listen to advise without looking in to it. We know this is the total opposite of what we have been told but it is a money making process which puts all our health at risk. There is a reason why heart disease and other health conditions are on the rise.
