Thoughts Today While Running in the Rain: - Rain falling today in Hattiesburg...Cold outside...Even the deer hunters likely remaining inside. USM Campus quiet but peaceful in a unique way. - Scianna School of Business rapidly taking shape and rising like a Phoenix along Highway 49...Sending a strong signal USM will continue to lead Mississippi in producing business leaders (long into the years to come). - The new School of Nursing Building taking shape as well, one brick at a time. Where in the South do you go to college to earn a top degree in Nursing? USM of course. - Take A Closer Look: Our Coast Campus Veterans Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Program is truly unique and well designed to accomodate those Veterans (and emerging Veterans) interested in a Nursing future. - Such a daily uplifting joy working around the folks at the USM Center for Veterans, Service Members and Families...All caring, service oriented men and women whose goal in life is to make conditions positive for Our USM Military Students. - USM Student-Veterans, Service Members and Families: All awesome men and women. Thanks for allowing us to serve you. - Our Family never takes Christmas for granted...never. We spent many years across the ocean (one Christmas in Austria; a few others in Germany; one in the middle of a Bosnia deployment). Experienced many others apart due to war (two consecutive in Iraq). However, what made all these holiday moments special was the honor of sharing Christmas with our Soldiers and their Families..Nothing like being around service-oriented people (all far from home) bound together as an unofficial values-basedFamily...to appreciate the Christmas spirit. - Michael and my brother Joe headed to Hattiesburg on Monday...Megan will remain in North Dakota due to her job...Already reflecting a sad face knowing my princess daughter will not be home for Christmas. - Char Broiled Oysters in New Orleans...Sounds good about right now...Along with a Shiner Bock. - Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines remain on the front lines at risk this Christmas...Please remember them in your prayers and recall the sacrifice being made by their Families at home. - Diane and I delivered food gift boxes to some needy Hattiesburg Families yesterday...A most humbling experience...American Citizens should be our Nations greatest resource; however, I wonder how much of an investment we truly make in each other. - Continue mission...Take care of each other...Best wishes this Christmas and into 2015...Thank you for Making A Difference
