Thoughts on HP Spin Off and implications on A HP just announce the plan to split into two companies. I am not the expert to determine success or failure. But I do see great courage in the decision. Finally the fuzziness goes away! What fuzziness you ask? Well the debate on which BU makes money and who loses money and who is being subsidized. With the split, we will once and for all have a clear picture between HPE and HPI. Any subsidy that happens happen within the org; cross over will no longer be possible. This make me wonder, A have devices and cloud. Business is most likely coming from devices (my guess) since cloud is in start-up mode. How to justify to those who are working 10-12 hour days to ensure competitiveness of devices so that base line revenue can be secured? How do you let the device guys know they have a future? and that what they are doing is worth it? HP did this by spinning off the company. HP Inc will fight to survive and thrive because they are on their own. Hewlett Packard Enterprise will run their revenue, gain their profit and re-invest according to where their strategy. I sincerely hope A will soon realize the dilemma they are facing and find a way to address the QUESTION soon.
