Thoughts on Online & Real Time Friendships and Differences (on Whatever) - 9, August 2014 Agreeing to disagree IMHO keeps genuine friends Friends. As well as keeping things peaceful. It makes us learn the fine art of diplomacy. I like honesty with kindness and compassion. I try to give others this. It is not always easy, but isnt peace better than fighting? But there are those people that want, or have to make another person wrong, with them being in the right... well who needs or wants an Ego for a Friend? Not I. To have Yes People is not helpful to our growth, but we do not have to accept excessively negative or drama types either. There is a difference between being kind, supportive, and encouraging to being an enabler or well, a brown-noser. Agreeing to disagree is really a good thing. That, communication, and a mutual respect for each other are good elements in a healthy relationship, not just Friendship Always in any situation, do what is right for you in these matters of differences or dissension. Use your common sense,and listen to your intuition. Do not make decisions in the midst of unsettled emotions or chaos. Wait until your mind is clearer. Step away from the drama. But do not allow anyone, even me, to tell you what is right for you or in any given situation. If you are in touch with yourself you will know what is best. If someone is a genuine friend, in my thinking and experiences, they do not seek to harm you, nor do they turn on you if you change. The genuine friends, well, they are the ones with a hand held out to pick you up when you have stumbled or fallen. They laugh, cry, pray, light a candle, send you a joke, or a story, a quote... things and actions that say I care, You matter to me. In other words, they abide. Sometimes they give you space because you asked them to. But you are never far from their thoughts. You and they are only ever an email, phone call, or visit away. I know who my genuine friends are.
