Three Prongs to More Effective Gaslighting Part 2/3: Framing the Perspective Growing up heavily impressed with and influenced by, art, I learned that perspective is everything! The glass can be seen as half full or half empty. Another persons perspective (viewpoint) can be framed (distorted) using the power of suggestion. Some schools are noteworthy for their degree and scope of gossip about children and their families. Say, for example, I went into the school as a substitute or rookie teacher and the teachers with more experience would say things like: That girls Dad is a drug dealer Id tend to give their opinions a lot of credibility based on having more experience, training, and authority. The psychological concept (trick) of confirmation bias then would lead me to subconsciously look for evidence to support the thesis of : dads a drug dealer; And to overlook evidence to the contrary. ENHANCED GASLIGHTING Gaslighting can be more effective if the primary support people in the targets (victims) life are led to expect to see (and therefore look for) information/evidence to confirm the victims insanity.
