Three Tax Inspectors suspended for graft Tribune News Service Patiala, March 5 Three Inspectors of the Excise and Taxation Department have been suspended for allegedly harassing traders in Abohar district and accepting hefty bribes from them. The department has also sought the suspension of another official. Excise and Taxation Commissioner Anurag Verma said he had suspended Excise & Taxation Inspectors (ETIs) Jasalpreet, Amrit Kumar and Kulwinder Singh and recommended the suspension of Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Harpreet Singh. Verma said a complaint was received at the newly launched Rahat helpline. the complainant had alleged that the accused had taken a bribe of Rs 42,000 from the owners of Kisan Tyres company, Abohar on February 21. Verma said the accused had gone for the inspection of the firm without taking permission from the higher authorities.
