Three badly beaten up for firing gunshots MU NEWS/IMPHAL, May 04 : Three men who allegedly tried to shoot a Jemadar of 3rd Indian Reserve Battalion were caught and beaten up badly at Mongshangei today. Later they were handed over to the Imphal west district police. The incident happened this afternoon at around 2.30 at Mongsangei Mayai Leikai. The three were identified as Sunil Thangjam (34) S/O Kulabidhu and Maibam Ranbir S/O Raghu (35) of of Heirangoithong and Loitongbam Ranjan (35) S/O Raghu of Haobam marak Chingtham Leirak. The trio came in two cars, Verna (MN04 A 7978) and Santro (MN04 A 4304). There was an argument for few minutes with three man and Akoijam Sashikumar who is a Jemadar near his residence in connection with a rented car. Later after argument, the three persons pull out a double barrel and fired upon Sashikumar. Locals of the Mongsangei rushed to the spot after hearing the gun shoot and caught the trio and beaten up blue and black. Later the three were handed over the Police station.
