Three cheers for former Governor L. Douglas Wilder (D) for standing up to the maelstrom of federal courtroom canon fire today in the sentencing hearing of Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell (R). Wilder scolded the federal prosecutors from the witness stand when he stated the publics lack of confidence in the government is more shaken because of the back room government gift of complete immunity to the progenitor of this whole affair, Johnny Williams, who walks completely free while our Virginia Governor is framed, tarred and feathered, and remanded to federal prison. Wilder received a standing ovation in the courtroom. Remember, when one juror was interviewed about whether is was ok to rely on lying government witness Williams, she couldnt answer that he was truthful at all.....Bob McDonnell may be a swagless dork and his actions were silly, but the judge at least agreed with most of us that the federal sentencing guidelines in this case were ridiculous. And that is an understatement.
