Three feathers for Patigi council boss The Executive Chairman, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon Makun Dauda Taoheed Lata, has been conferred with three different chieftaincy titles in three communities in the council. The titles included Wakilin Rayar Kasa of Patigi Community, Sarkin Samari of Lalagi Kingdom and Talban Kasa of Lade Community- all in Patigi LGA. The conferment was done on the October 16th, 18th and November 2nd respectively. Conferring the Wakilin Rayar Kasa on the council chairman, the Etsu of Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar, sued for peace in the community, saying such would be elusive in an atmosphere of uncertainty and acrimony. The monarch prided that his kingdom has become a rallying point in the area of enduring peace, calling on his subjects to sustain the momentum. He said, “As you all know, Patigi has been a rallying point in terms of peace and harmony. I want to urge you all to make peace your watchword. Avoid anything that could bring about division or disunity among; we can’t engage in any meaningful things when our peace is shattered. Therefore, let everybody see you as peace lovers and advocates”. Umar, who described the title holder as a good ambassador of the council, disclosed that the conferment was done in appreciating what the council boss has been able to do within the last three years of his administration. The first class traditional ruler solicited for the support of well meaning subjects of the town to invest in the ancient town to fast-track pace of development. In his remarks at the conferment ceremony, Hon Lata appreciated the monarch for considering him worthy of the title, adding that it would motivate him to contribute his quota for further development of the town. The title holder eulogized the traditional ruler for promoting peace and unity in the Patigi town, adding that posterity would chronicle the monarch’s tenure on the platter of gold. Lata, while speaking at the two other conferment ceremonies, thanked the Zitsu of Lalagi Kingdom, Alhaji Umaru Ndache and Lile of Lade Community, Alhaji Abubakar, for the conferment of Sarkin Samari and Talban Kasa respectively.
