Three out of four long-term unemployed on Work Programme haven’t - TopicsExpress

Three out of four long-term unemployed on Work Programme haven’t found a job yet. Only six per cent of those on sickness benefits who joined the scheme were found and started a job. If £5 billion is spent on a programme dedicated to finding work for the unemployed and all that program can manage to do is to find work for 1 in 4 long term unemployed then either that programme is so inept and flawed there has been a huge wastage of taxpayers money, or, it proves that there is no work out there for them. Either way that is absolutely damning on this government, by labelling the unemployed as shirkers they infer that the work is out there and it is the unemployed that don`t want it, so why has their work programme and the DWP, which pushes people hard and sanctions benefit payments regularly, not been able to place people in employment? Logic tells you that answer, but government hollow rhetoric wants you to believe something completely different. As for the 6% success rate of finding work for people on sickness benefits, logic tells you that the vast majority who are being thrown off of ESA by ATOS will never see employment again in any meaningful way. On the one side they are being sentenced to a life of perpetual oppression, benefit sanctions and harassment from the DWP for not being able to find work, on the other, an employers market that has no intention of being philanthropic and has no use for people with illness and disability whilst it has well over 2 million able bodied "work units" to select from. Lets cut the crap when it comes to this governments bullshit rhetoric of "enabling the disabled", that 6% success rate in that area shows that clearly for the nonsense that it is. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/three-out-of-four-longterm-unemployed-on-work-programme-havent-found-a-job-yet-8665874.html
