Three seventh-grade students from Massillon Junior High School recently competed and placed in the Veterans of Foreign War’s (VFW) annual Patriot’s Pen essay contest. Kayleb C. won first place, Emma B. placed second and Brianna P. placed third. The theme for this year’s contest was “Why I Appreciate America’s Veterans.” A banquet dinner was held for the three winners and their families. All three winners also won a cash prize; Kayleb will received $250, Emma will received $100 and Brianna will receives $50. As the district’s first place winner, Kayleb will advance to the regional competition. Congratulations!
