Three years married today. “Actually, years mean nothing. Its whats inside them.” Over three years I have become a rich man. My life is exciting, purpose-full, loving and to my amazement... coherent - lol. I am feeling more and more connected to my place, my turanga, who I am and what my relationships are to the people and places around me. In three years I have become a father of two beautiful, spunky, stroppy little girls (just like their mum); I have moved home to Manutuke, to be closer to the power of whenua, whakapapa, and to re-grow my relationship to tipuna in a lived way. I am working within the arts, community, taiao and tikanga... and this work is deepening every day. This is not just my experience alone. Beside me, helping me see things in a way Ive never been quite able to do before and love like I have never been able to before, is you my huni. I am constantly inspired by you. You are a beautiful woman who in your own right and practice is more driven than me. Haha. You came with me to my whenua tipu, and lets face it sometimes Manutuke can feel like the ends of the earth. Haha. But here, you have grown your own roots... and I get the privilige to see you thrive more and more each day, the fruits of which will not only support me and the girls, but will feed many. You have a huge capacity to give, and a bigger empathy to fight for those who need giving to. I love you. I know in my soul... you are with me! I am not alone. How amazing is that!!! So beautiful Ngapaki Moetara... Happy 3rd Anniversary! Lets do lunch! I love you to the moon and back!
