Through Jason’s Eyes When Jason’s gift of life was brought back to Heaven by God, Jason bestowed his last gifts on others. He was a tissue donor, and a couple of people received his retinas. I wonder about them. Do they now see the world through Jason’s eyes? Jason saw the contented face of his loving Mom. He took it in as an infant…his brown eyes wide with new knowledge.He was immersed in love. He was rocked to sleep by his Dad. His eyes closed in trust while lying on his Daddy’s chest, rocking. Jason could see with utter clarity into his twin’s eyes, and sometimes they saw things only the two of them could see. Denied to the rest of us…shared only by the two of them He took in the lessons only a brother and sister can teach…being put into place as the Little Brother….Being prized like no other for being a Jokester. Being carefully guarded by his older brother and sister. Learning life from them. Jason saw his Grandparents give witness every single day to hard work, devotion to each other and love of family. He saw that his Grandpa worked hard on the farm to make a good life. He watched his Grandma’s actions as she lovingly went over and above the expected to make things special for her family. He saw. He watched. Jason learned about hurt. And I believe he made it his mission in life to alleviate hurt wherever he could. Kind words and thoughts were abundant in Jason’s world. He wanted to see you smile. And he was just the guy to make you do it. How lucky when Jason first laid eyes on Laura! He certainly liked what he saw. Together they saw a bright future ahead of them. With shared love and dreams, they set out to make life happen. And when it did….When he first looked with teared–up eyes on Camden and later, on Adelei, he bathed them in the warmth of his loving gaze. Underlying every action, every decision, every thought…was Jason’s love for his family. Did you, who received sight from Jason, receive his insight also? Do you see the world through Jason’s eyes? His eyes now help you see….I hope you see the world through Jason’s eyes.
