Through Thursday evening, storms with damaging straight-line winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will rumble from the southern Mid-Atlantic to the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. This threat will eventually end during the overnight as the storms push offshore. Severe thunderstorms will also rumble over the northern High Plains from Montana and Wyoming to northeast Colorado, with damaging winds, hail, and, perhaps, a couple of tornadoes.
