Through faith and patience we inherit the promises [full - TopicsExpress

Through faith and patience we inherit the promises [full salvation: spirit, soul and body]. This is one of the least understood and appreciated aspects of the Gospel, imho, the blessings and vital necessity of patience/perseverance/endurance and which all the writers emphasized back then, but which we hear so very little about today, sadly. Jesus invites us, like He did them, to walk with Him along the Way and to learn of Him and His ways where they arent yet ours (according to your ways and your deeds I will judge you, Ezek 24:14). As we walk with Him, little known to us, He is going about quietly fulfilling the very promises He made to us since He is not a man that He should (or ever could) lie, (Numb 23:19), is always at work in us faithfully bringing about that good end He has in mind (Deut 8:6 & James 5:11), ie the complete conformity/restoration to His true, unmarred image (Gal 4:19) and the bringing us into the fellowship of His Son. (1 Cor 1:9). Patience, one of the fruits of the Spirit, is critical since the bringing of what was already finished from before time (Heb 4:3) into our time - takes time. Prov 20:21 reads an inheritance (Christ) gained hastily in the beginning will not be blessed in the end which is what Jesus is saying in Matt 10:22 that he who endures to the end (of all My good intentions for you, trusting Me to do what i promised i would and tarrying with Me in your garden of Gethsemane hour) will be saved (fully delivered, made whole, restored, self will put to death). – John Castleman
