Through my early life I must acknowledge having been often privileged. I later came to see the hardship of others and I encountered my own. And I began to realize that many young people are trapped into prisons of despair from which they cannot escape solely by the dynamics around them. And I learned that there is sometimes nothing more that can be done except simply being with them and offering a period of respite, to validate and be one of the few if only to hear them. To be human is a difficult task. To be human with another human lightens the load.
