Throwback Thursday - Women On Wheels® Website THEN and NOW! The November/December 1999 Women On Wheels® magazine had an article about WOWs new web site. Our current website was launched this past July. Women On Wheels® On Web Do you have internet access? Have you seen our web site? If not, go to WomenOnWheels.org/ Minnesota member, Stacy L., has been instrumental in setting up the web site and getting our own domain names (Women-On-Wheels.org also points to us). She has also been collaborating with Board members and other volunteers to fine tune the stuff on the new web site. This incarnation of the site is essentially a part of much of the content that used to be available when Stacy had it all sitting in her own personal account on the Internet. But as she rewrote and reformatted the stuff during the move to the new digs, she took into consideration the statistics available to her in the log files. They showed which pages were being visited a lot and which were hardly visited at all. She did not include the infrequently-visited pages on the new web site. Theres lots of stuff you can do on the web site, and we would like to encourage you to particularly check out the following capabilities: - Submit your cumulative mileage accomplishments using the form thats available online. - Submit your change of address when you move; this will help ensure that WOW magazines dont get thrown in the trash since they dont get forwarded by the post office. - Submit your articles to the magazine! . . . letters to the editor, chapter chatter activity summaries to share with everyone, events, etc. - Get a copy of the membership application/renewal form (print it right in your home instead of chopping up your magazine or running off to a copier). - Get the Ride-In™ sign-up form too, when that time comes! - Ask questions via email, of the Board members and other volunteers. For all this and MORE, go to WomenOnWheels.org and be sure to visit the Contact Us page!!! The guest book, and the Talk WOW forum are places where you can read what other people think or want to know . . . maybe you can answer someone elses question, or find someone in your area to ride with, or perhaps start a new chapter. Read the guest book and the postings in Talk WOW and share YOUR knowledge and enthusiasm, your concerns, triumphs, or hard-earned lessons. :) And for fun, before you leave, you can see the statistics! Doesnt sound exciting to you? Oh. Well . . . I wont list all of the 60-plus countries whose citizens have visited our WOW web site. But if youd like to see for yourself (Iceland and Thailand?!), click on the small blue square with the tiny jagged red line in it. (The square is located between the Cool Site Award and the guestbook logo.) *(In Stacys words: Arent we here to learn and have fun?)* Check us out at womenonwheels.org!
