Throwback, to that time I got to perform the very first song I ever wrote, nine years later. It was a strange and beautiful thing to play it with Nathan Crockett, Peter Broderick and Brian Sanderlin. All of us came from the same backwoods valley, and they all three had been friends of mine since childhood. It was poetic to play this with friends, who very much are the reasons why I ever even picked up music in the first place. I was 15 when I wrote this, on a little dinky Casio keyboard I found at goodwill... and I NEVER would have thought it would come out like this.
