Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions. Severe thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Central Alberta today. Over East Central Alberta thunderstorms are currently developing and expected to intensify this afternoon. Over the foothills, thunderstorms are expected to develop later this afternoon and strengthen as they move eastward to affect the Edmonton - Red Deer corridor. Large hail is the main threat with these storms though heavy rain and strong wind gusts are also expected.
