Thursday, 29th August MINISTER TO THE LORD TODAY “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. (Acts 13:2) One of the most beautiful things we can do as believers is to minister to the Lord. The scripture reveals that this was a practice in the early Church, and it blessed them tremendously. We are often used to being ministered by the Lord, but it is even more beautiful when we minister to Him. He loves it. The first verse of our opening scripture tells us of how certain believers got together just to minister to the Lord through prayer and fasting. They weren’t praying for any particular need. They came just to minister to the Lord. That meeting became the turning point in their lives and in Church history, as it marked the onset of Paul’s missionary journeys of spreading the gospel. But first they ministered to the Lord. Ministering to the Lord means giving Him your undivided attention in service; it is focusing upon Him in whole-hearted worship; offering Him the very best of you. Remember worship in the New Testament is in spirit and in truth, therefore, His word must be in your mouth, and your spirit must be attuned to Him. You can minister to Him through songs of praise, prayer of thanksgiving, adoration and worship. You can reflect on His goodness, and magnify Him for who He is and all He has done. Here’s a beautiful opportunity to pray and sing in other tongues, lifting up your hands, and pouring out your love to Him from the depth of your innermost being. You can minister to Him with a precious seed offering. And one thing for sure is your life will never be the same. You are sure to receive a word from the Lord that will usher you to a new level of glory and grace as you minister to the Lord today. Confession: Glorious Father, I worship you for who you are and all you’ve done in my life. Thank you for my salvation, thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit, thank you for the blessing of your word in my life and family, and for your great mercies, endless favors and abundant grace towards me, I worship you today in Jesus Name!
