Thursday, 5/8/2014 at 11:01AM Before we file this observation under not a shocker, lets take a deeper dive into some interesting and somewhat humorous findings from a Holiday Hypermarket study highlighted in the Daily Mail. First off, yes, 90 percent of women admit to not wearing everything they pack for vacation. (Guilty.) Hey, not everyone has a brawny Jason Statham to lug all the overpacked luggage. Lucky Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The statistics also show that ladies will pack an average of eight pairs of shoes for a seven-day jaunt. (I just went on a four-day vacation and brought four pairs of shoes, so that sounds about right.) So its also no surprise that 53 percent of women polled end up with overweight baggage and 77 percent admit to bumming some real estate in their partners bags. Hey, if hes not using it... Which leads to how couples work as a team to pack for a fun-filled alone-time vacation and the answer: not so well. Sixty-four percent admit to fighting because of the packing stress and the main reason: attempting to bring unnecessary items. I feel as though the term unnecessary is subjective—an extra pair of heels is sometimes crucial to making the most out of a trip! But seriously, my hubs and I agree to be responsible for our own packing to avoid any contentious pre-vacay debates. What about you—do you tend to overpack? How many shoes do you bring for a weeklong trip? Do you and your partner argue about what to bring? Photos: Getty Images glamour/fashion/blogs/dressed/2014/05/most-women-overpack-for-vacation.html
