Thursday: Had a loud, rude nurse again last night. Our primary day nurse was not happy about that. Wanted us to talk to nurse manager. I said we already talked to her, and I asked to speak to the patient advocate three days ago and still havent seen him. Well, that got some action. Both of them came right away. Hoping night time will be quiet now. Called ENT for a consult since Ron is complaining constantly about the trach. Didnt see anything down his throat, but cant see past vocal cord to top of trach. Ordered a new flexible trach that is also smaller. Hoping that will help. Went to a meeting today on coping with spinal cord injury. Wheeled Ron to the community room in his bed with the vent. Every Thursday they have these informational meetings that they want us to go to. They also want to teach me how to take care of Ron: vent, trach, bed sores, bowel care, using the lift to get him from bed to wheelchair, etc. I dont want to do any of it; it feels like giving in. I just want him healed.
