Thursday post, a day late, 1/24/14: Another week, and another story about someone with mental illness ending up as a victim of a criminal justice system that has little sympathy for, or even recognition of, the special problems that the mentally have with even basic survival and social skills. I would warn you that this video contains some live footage of the victim which, if you have a heart, can be difficult to watch and listen to, as the dying man screams and cries out for his father. Tazed in the Face, Beaten and Killed, But Since The Killers Were... https://youtube/watch?v=389ZzRXH6mk In this sad story, two policemen tazed and beat to death a homeless schizophrenic man. The story has another ironic chapter as well -- since a jury did not convict these two men of knowingly causing the homeless mans death, following their acquittal, one of the cops wants to get his old job back. I dont think I would want someone serving on a local police force who could beat an unarmed schizophrenic to death with such an apparent lack of remorse.
