Thuthukile Zuma headed the call of Making Education Fashionable! Lets us celebrate that: By Hlamy Mnengwani Ordinarily I would not have come to the Zuma familys defense, because we have witness, since the ANC Polokwane 2007 Conference Black Economic Empowerment(BEE) been replaced with or is increasingly becoming too narrow, amounting to Zuma Economic Empowerment( ZEE), from the multibillion-rand Areclor-Mittla BEE(ZEE) deal to the 9billion oil deal recently(just to mention a few), however this is a debate for another day. Our focus today is the Thuthukile saga. This morning we wake up to a huge hu ha! Of Mail & Guardian news headlines Zumas daughter gets top state job. The whole social network n various media platform were buzzing to this none headline news to me! People(young or old) get appointed to senior positions everyday. Many young whites get appointed, without no experience, but the South Africa media( which is foreign owned in majority by the way) wont report this to us, but they will only report about Thuthukile Zuma because she is black. As a matter of principle let us defend fellow African child! Not so long ago Hlauid was appointed the COO of SABC with no grade 12,the excuse was he has practical experience. Here is a young lady with a master degree 25yrs old for that matter, her father is a President, but she did not sit n relax behind that,She went all out(unlike those who would have normal requested for a tender the likes Khulubuse n Duduzane Zuma of this country) to study n complete in record time. Why a we not celebrating her education achievements? Or just because she is an African n the owners of Mail & Guardian do not believe that Africans are capable! South Africans are been unfair on JZ sometimes. Many comrades get deployed to this Ministerial positions from time to time, some of them without no post-matric- qualification. Personal I see no corruption here, unless if we want to say that people with a Zuma surname or children of politicians must not work in this country! Because even if she was appointed as a Admin Clerk people will still complain. Let us not over emphasis work experience, because there a many people who a sitting at home due to lack of work experience. Let us not blame Thuthukile for spending 6 or 7years in University and still come out without there so called work experience , but blame SAs post-schooling education system which fails to meet the demand of the labour market. If Mail & Guardian were genuine, their were gonna advocate for a complete overhauling of the post-schooling education system to be able to produce or match the demands of the labour market. But Mail & Guardian wont do that because their are not interested in the development of an African child. Thuthukile Zuma who comes from a family(which is arguable a rich family), but she still see a need in getting education(she has headed the call of making education fashionable) Why cant we celebrate that?
