Tightrope Written By: Rosemary Williams Matthew 7:25 And the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house, and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the Rock. My effort to chill in front of the television was anything but relaxing. Every muscle in my body tightened as I leaned forward, riveted to the screen. Heart racing, I found myself praying for the guy on this live broadcast whose very life was on the line. Nik Walenda was walking a tightrope across the Grand Canyon with no safety supports. He would either make it or fall to his death in front of a live audience. Sometimes, wind gusts caused Kris to squat down on the wire to regain his balance. On his microphone, you could hear him praying. His focus was intense as he asked God to calm and help him. He made it and ran the last few steps into the arms of his praying wife. I thought about some canyons in my life. Many times I have walked my own tightrope, trying to navigate my way. Many times I have stumbled and almost lost my balance, sure I was about to fall. Thankfully, I grew up in a Christian home. My parents taught me to love Jesus Christ and I looked to the Bible for guidance. My prayer for you is that the winds in your life would be calmed as you trust Christ to direct your steps.
