Tim Pettovello came for his first visit this week to our new home - TopicsExpress

Tim Pettovello came for his first visit this week to our new home in Georgia. I took him to Raccoon Mountain,TN for a day of mountain bike riding (of course). Raccoon Mountain is the only pump station on the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority). Water is pumped up from the Tennessee River to a reservoir on top of the mountain. This water is then used to generate electricity when/ if needed. The pump to move this large amount of water is aproximately 80 feet higher than the Statue of Liberty and contained within the mountain itself. Tim is standing in an old pump housing that is on display in the parking lot. (See video) The weather was great and we were able to ride for 3-4 hours. Im pretty certain that his legs are still cramping up from all the climbing we did...we had a lot of fun and were able to catch up on what each of us has been up to for the last couple months. I hate to say it but...I really do miss all my riding buddies (and non-riding buddies) from Michigan. If you havent visited yet...please do.
