Tim is sick. So sick he has had to go to bed. I have never seen him like this. He has not eaten for two days. He cant even read his book. He feels awful, but when he tries to get up to join the team on the roof, he nearly falls over. Thank god for sustainable tradies . . . Replacing a roof is a shit of a job. It is hot, hard, and unrewarding. While they smile for a photo every now and again, I can tell that they are actually exhausted already . . . but racing to get as much done before the rain. I am not on the roof. It was one of three promises I made to myself when we moved here - no heights or heavy lifting, no living in an unrenovated space, and no looking at real estate in the newspaper! But I am organising food and I kinda like that. When I was a teenager I spent a week during shearing season with my Aunty Jenny. We baked about 6 cakes a day, made mountains of salad and pasta, baked bread . . . and it was gone in seconds . . So I check on Tim, take photos, put the kettle on and keep the beers cold. Not sure its worthy of a sustainable tradie title but still!
