Time for Timmys rant once again. After a weekend of seeing my teams fall miserably and the naysayers and trolls having a hayday at we Texans expense...at least most that I know, let me explain something to all the 49ers fans, Texas A&M fans, OU fans, and that arrogant Mormon outfit in Provo, Utah. Being a Texan and a life long Dallas Cowboy fan, and/or a Texas Longhorn fan will forever supersede the arrogance of the rest of America, who by the way, never claimed to be a separate republic ( save the Confederate States of America). The traditions and the absolute excellence of everything from music to sports ( especially football) emanates greatly out of our state. To have been raised with Tom Landry, Darrell K. Royal, Waylon Jennings, George Strait, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Roger Staubach, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, Pantera, and to have seen the excellence from the Nations #1 city - Austin, Texas....to have been witness to the praying, playing Cowboys of the 60s and 70s...Americas team...and five great Super bowls, is something one cannot explain in mere words. None will do. Every major college in the nation eyeballs Texas for its college football players and other such sports. Texas high school football is hands down, the finest caliber of football in the nation, hence the reason Alabama has at least 3 starters on its squad from Texas. Auburn almost as many. Oklahoma wouldnt win the dust bowl without Texas high school talent. Neither would Oklahoma State. Yes, California,Alabama, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida also have some power house teams, but who could challenge the huge state of Texas? The point is this, go out into big city America and let someone ask you where you are from. Oh, Im from Ohio. Response: Oh, ok. Or, Im from NY. Response: Oh, thats nice. Or, I am from Oklahoma. Response: Theres nothing in Oklahoma...but dust and prairie? Or, I am from California. Response: Isnt there a lot of earthquakes there? You get my point. HOWEVER, when you say with a pleased tone of voice exuding from your answer, I was born in Amarillo, Texas and raised in El Paso Texas! Response: OH wow! Really? You are from Texas! I had an aunt from Texas, we loved going there as kids...and wed go to football games...wow, they can play some football in Texas. Nice people in Texas...and the state is so beautiful...it has everything, from desert to trees and lakes, to prairie, to beaches! Id love to live there! Yes, there is something special about Texas. The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You. I humbly digress. To those haters and trolls...GO KICK ROCKS.
