Time for a Crawford family update and request for prayers!!!! Sue (my wife) has been having trouble swallowing the last few days. Today after church we were having a pot luck dinner at the Hamilton Ohio Seventh-Day Adventist Church. I got her food 1st and while I was filling my plate, she got choked on a piece of watermelon! There was a nurse there and we tried the Heimlich maneuver several times but it didnt work. A friend called 911, but apparently the life squad didnt know where the church was. They went right by the church. 3 or 4 people ran to the highway to flag down the life squad. She was only wheezing and her lips were turning blue. She stopped breathing on the way to the hosp[ital. I gave them permission to put her on a ventilater (temporarily). She was fighting the tubing, so they had to sedate her so she doesnt know whats going on. She will be in ICU for a couple of days, then will probably be in the hospital the rest of the week for evaluation. Now my turn.. Last month I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I had a cat scan Thursday and am scheduled for a bone scan Aug 12th. If EITHER test shows the cancer has spread anywhere else, I will only be able to get tosterone pills for treatment (Iget treated at the Cincinnati VA and they wont offer aggressive treatment if you are over 65 and have at least 10 more years life expectancy) If the cancer has NOT spread then I am eligible for my choice(?) radiation, freezing, or surgery. Keep us in your prayers and pray I will get to make a choice and that I will make the right choice. Love to everybody!!!
