Time for a little sympathy here! I got home feeling sorta merry. Not arrest me and throw the keys away merry, just mildly merry, the type of merry that makes you wanna hug ugly strangers and explain the whole concept of brotherly love to random street poles kinda merry? You coulda heard the milk of human kindness sloshing around in me as I walked! That kinda merry! And I even stopped to congratulate myself on how well I drive and how I missed all the inanimate objects God strews across our path as we wend our way home! And thats when the shit started. Half way up the stairs I paused to look down and admire how perfectly I had parked the car. Well, the top half of me paused, sorta from the waist up? But my feet kept on moving, like a horse that can smell water, they were too near home to stop. And now I cant sleep, because I am in agony. Best I can tell I set some kind of land-speed record going down the stairs backwards. And I had it all together! I hit the bottom smokin! I had a brief moment when I thought I was Jackie Chan! And then my knee buckled and I kissed the pavement. Hard. Now my shoulder is throbbing, my knee is swelling, and I am typing one-handed because my left wrist has taken a few days off. And sleeping is not an option because any involuntary move I make causes me to spew obscenities and blasphemies!
